Get To Know Matthew Peterson
As a Sarasota native, Dr. Peterson attended Phillippi Shores Elementary, Brookside Junior High, and Riverview High School. After graduating high school, he moved to Gainesville and attended the University of Florida where he became a lifelong Gator fan. He graduated from the University of Florida with an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.
Dr. Peterson began his dental studies at the University Of Florida, College of Dentistry; however, his studies were interrupted by an opportunity to work as a chemist for an environmental science company in Gainesville. After two years, he resumed his dental studies in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Peterson then went on to graduate Cum Laude from Washington University School of Dental Medicine with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1990. He returned to Sarasota with his DMD degree and a 7-month-old daughter, Danielle.
After completing his extensive dental education and starting his career, Dr. Peterson knew he wanted to open his own practice. This would allow him to provide his patients with high-quality care according to his standards and vision for his practice. Twenty-five years later, he continues to be on the cutting edge of dental excellence by offering the latest dental technology available, providing the most desired and successful dental services.
Outside of the office, Dr. Peterson enjoys going to concerts, boating, listening to music, and traveling. He has also played drums professionally around Sarasota off and on for years. Feel free to ask him about his latest adventures when you see him!
Preparing for Your First Visit
What to expect
If you're visiting us for the first time, there’s no need to be nervous! Your first visit will be focused on getting to know you and your needs, lifestyle, and goals. You’ll also have plenty of time to meet the team and get settled in our office.
WHAT TO BRING
For your first visit, bring along your insurance information or ID card if you are planning to use dental insurance. If you haven’t already, fill out your new patient paperwork to save time during your appointment. Other than that, just sit back, relax, and let us take it from there!
